Visits to LongHouse are inspired for many by our ever-changing seasonal installations of sculpture, and the continued revision and growth of our gardens. The lushness of our flora, the magnificence of our trees, the unique layout infused with our current exhibits throughout the grounds continuously delight our visitors.
What better way to entertain house guests, begin an evening with someone special, or to unwind and connect with the abundant beauty of the gardens, than to enjoy a Twilight Tour?
Limited to a small group of 10, these strolls are conducted by a member of the LongHouse Garden Committee. While leisurely enjoying the property at dusk, you will see both our plantings and art in a most favorable light.
LongHouse Reserve is a 16 acre sculpture garden reflecting world cultures and inspiring a creative life.
On the Flower District gallery tour in Chelsea on Sat. May 6 at 1:00 PM, meeting at 247 W. 29th St. near 7th Ave., celebrate springtime as we visit galleries in New York’s newest emerging art neighborhood. You’ll see vibrant paintings by an artist whose active brain tumor affects his work, aerial photography of hundreds of miles of pristine African coast, a group show of wearable fabric art, and much more. In between exhibits, we’ll stroll through fragrant plant- and flower-laden sidewalks in this remarkable commercial floral area!
New York Gallery Tours presents the Chelsea gallery tour which will be their most extraordinary of the month, as we have 300 contemporary art galleries to choose from there.
Highlights: (1) a European artist who employed 8 designers (lighting, set, make-up, etc.) to create photos unlike any you’ve ever seen, (2) a young female artist’s inventive stop-motion video installation that humorously comments on the chaos of modern life, and (3) the single most SHOCKING action an artist took to produce the stunning work you’ll see, in the 15 years we’ve been leading tours! These are just 3 of 7 eye-opening shows.”
