Greenwich Restaurant Week Opener

Nov 11, 2015 6:30 pm

What a delicious night! Was it the flavors wafting that seduced the NYC crowd to leave the city or the dazzling Ferraris?  Hosted by Miller Motorcars,  the restauranteurs and the diners all gathered for a wonderful evening of camaraderie.

Fabulous wines were sipped offered by Putnam Wines and Liquors including an amazing French Chardonay and an Italian Montepulciano.  Altaneve had a variety of proseccos chilled on ice. Savory treats including truffle risotto, lobster bisque, and honey drizzled goat cheese bruschetta dotted the room. Master chocolatier Diane Holland from Blue Tulip cholates  created lipsticks and shoes that would make you do a double take they were so real! Citarella also had a table of sweet treats including devil cakes, chocolate mouse,  and mmm mmm good biscotti in Vin Santo.

The proceeds benefited the Transportation Association of Greenwich. . (TAG) is a private not-for-profit organization specializing in transportation services for elderly disabled individuals and transportation for the disadvantaged of all ages. Founded in 1984 in response to a critical need identified by the United Way, TAG has served town residents, organizations, and numerous social services agencies in lower Fairfield County for over 30 years. One of its programs, Safe Rides, aims to reduce the dangers of teen drinking and driving. Teens are allowed to use the service to call for a ride in the event that they feel unsafe driving themselves or others home.

Cheers to a good cause this fine fall evening.

Art Tentation – Oktopus

Okt03

Art Tentation VIP opening night, September 3rd

Oktopus launched its first art and antique fair at the magical XVI century castle of Villefranche. The crowds were enchanted by the softly lit setting for the after hours opening night celebration. The art was displayed in tents within the castle’s walls, on cobbled roads, next to beautiful trees. From emerging artists, to masters including Picasso, and Antiques galore, there were wonders everywhere to marvel.

Champagne, light fare, and thousands of patrons to mingle with, created a dreamlike setting for this evening to remember. The acclaimed French artists Titouan Lamazou, with his fabulous portraiture, and Patrick Moya, with his surreal paintings, drew many admirers. More then just contemporary art featuring 120 artists, there were carpets, exotic artifacts and even vintage clothing in the show. The stands dotted the roads like little neighborhoods to visit as you strolled along the streets. Wouldn’t it be lovely if all evenings could be this charming?

Liberation Day 2015

September 3rd, Liberation Day Celebration with Monaco USA

Swinging into the 40s with the Lib Day Darlings and Carl “Frankie” Henry, this celebration of the liberation of Monaco swept me off my feet. The crowds gathered on the breathtaking Stardeck at Stars ‘N Bars, overlooking the port of Monaco surrounded by its magnificent landscape in the distance. Dressed in costume of the era, the guests celebrated 1944 with drinks, dinner, and dancing.

Monaco USA organized the festivities. This association serves as a social and business network for Americans, Monegasques and other English-speaking members of the international community. The Association’s historical objectives include fostering a strong bond between Monaco and the United States, assisting Americans visiting or living in the principality, and supporting Monaco’s long term commitment to help the disadvantaged.
