Dhaka Art Summit

dhakaartsummit2016

Friday to Monday, February 5 to 8

With the subtitle Not as far as it seems, the Dhaka edition of Safina Radio Project takes questions of belonging and home as its departure point. Responding to the practices, curatorial premises and work on show at the Dhaka Art Summit 2016, Safina will explore common grounds within historical contexts, providing a cross section of origins and their interpretations.

Preprogrammed and commissioned pieces will open up a broad cultural context for Dhaka; literature, architecture, art and music content will bring to the fore the rich cultural undercurrents of one of Asia’s most complex cities, drawing listeners closer to Dhaka as a centre for cultural discourse.

See more at http://www.safinaradioproject.org/#!dhaka-art-summit-2016/wje2p

Come and take part in Safina Radio Project conversations – you will find us by the old bus, outside the Shilpakala Academy. The programme is constantly being updated, check back each day for the confirmed schedule!

Poems And Images From St Barth For Night Reading

Authored by Alen J Salerian MD

Seemingly unrelated poems and paintings may soothe your mind and let sleep take over your brain.

It’s not a single word or color, it is their synergy, their joint hypnotic effect that distinguishes this unusual poem-painting combination from other artistic work.

They have power. They have punch. They may make you think and imagine. II suggest one poem a night; if you digest too many they may trouble you.
