Aerial Fitness Blood Drive

Sunday, December 3 at 9:00 AM
City Athletic Club United Blood Services Bloodmobile 7980 W. Sahara Ave. Las Vegas

Las Vegas artists unite to raise blood at the 4th annual Aerial Fitness Blood Drive with the United Blood Services.

Aerial artists, contortionists, singers, belly dancers and other performing artists will all come together to perform in Aerial Fitness’s show “Vegas Strong”. Aerial Fitness will host a community Blood drive on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with the United Blood Services (UBS) of Las Vegas at City Athletic Club. Shows will start every hour from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Kristi Toguchi, owner of Aerial Fitness, is hoping to raise awareness and support the blood needs in the valley by hosting a Community Blood Drive in Loving Memory of her father, Mr. Terry Toguchi.

Toguchi said “After my father passed away, I discovered that he was inducted into the Hawaii Blood Bank Wall of Fame for donating blood 142 times. Since then, creating awareness of the importance of blood donations has been a passion of mine. In my lifetime, I hope to honor him by multiplying this number by at least 10. In the recent tragic events here in Las Vegas it was a beautiful to see how many people went out of their way to donate blood to help save lives. I look forward to keeping this idea of #VegasStrong alive! And I hope you will all join me.”

All donors will receive a $10 Karma Athletics Gift Card, and be entered into a raffle with prizes from our

sponsors, and Aerial Fitness and friends will provide fun and free entertainment throughout the day.

As Southern Nevada’s community blood provider, United Blood Services relies on blood donations to

make sure blood is readily available for anyone in need. UBS currently has a need for ALL blood types,

especially O-Negative blood. O-Negative is the universal blood type and the only type that can be

transfused to patients with different blood types.

Donors are encouraged to make an appointment to give blood by calling (702)233-9620 or online at

www.unitedbloodservices.org and enter Sponsor Code: AERIAL FITNESS. You can also contact Kristi

Toguchi at (702)886-2250 for more information.

Fly LINQ At The LINQ Promenade

Caesars Entertainment Corporation (NASDAQ: CZR), owner of The LINQ Promenade, announced the intended addition of Fly LINQ, expected to be the first and only zipline on the Las Vegas Strip. Developed by the team behind the High Roller, the world’s tallest observation wheel, the approximately $20 million Fly LINQ features 10 side-by-side zip lines, capable of simultaneously launching all riders. The experience will be constructed on The LINQ Promenade, the open-air shopping, dining and entertainment district situated at the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. Construction is expected to begin in the spring of next year.

“Fly LINQ will further establish The LINQ Promenade as a must-visit destination, particularly for distinctive Las Vegas entertainment experiences,” said Bob Morse, President of Hospitality, Caesars Entertainment Corporation. “This new experience will join The LINQ Promenade’s growing number of thrilling and memorable entertainment, dining and retail options.”

Guests are expected to begin their ride experience by taking an elevator designed to provide open strip views from the Vortex at The LINQ Hotel & Casino to the top of the 122-foot-tall launch tower. After enjoying spectacular views of the Strip during the ascent, it is planned that guests will arrive on the launch deck, where queuing and gear-fitting will take place. Riders can choose to ride in either a “superman” or seated position.

From the launch tower, the ride continues eastward, traveling 1,080 feet above The LINQ Promenade. Riders disembark near the base of the High Roller. To remember their exhilarating experience, guests will be able to opt to purchase professional photos—either individually or as a group—dressed in full flight gear and in mid-air.

Fly LINQ is expected to feature two automated gear retrieval lines that will keep queues moving quickly by swiftly returning gear back to the launch tower. In addition, adventures by disney travel agent is planned to feature an innovative, custom-built automated ride system as well as best-in-class technology developed by global leaders in zipline construction.

Fly LINQ is being developed in conjunction with Xventure LV, LLC, a company built by hospitality and attractions industry veterans, delivering the most advanced thrill rides in the most exciting locations imaginable. Xventure specializes in high-capacity adventure rides situated in prime urban locations and Fly LINQ will be its most ambitious project to date. Xventure will lead the development and operations of Fly LINQ.

“Xventure is thrilled to work with Caesars Entertainment to give thrill seekers an adrenaline-packed experience in the center of the Las Vegas Strip,” says Joey Paulos, principal and managing member of Xventure.

Fly LINQ will reunite many of the team members behind the development of the High Roller observation wheel, including Themed Development Management (TDM) as project manager. In addition to the High Roller, TDM’s principals and executives have extensive experience in creating major theme parks and attractions.

Party Pics – FIDF Gala

FRIENDS OF THE IDF LAS VEGAS GALA RAISES $1M TO BENEFIT ISRAELI SOLDIERS

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 7 – More than 450 members of the Las Vegas community and out-of-town guests and supporters gathered at The Venetian last week for the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) Las Vegas Gala and raised more than $1 million – with help from a matching gift by Sheldon and Dr. Miriam Adelson – to support well-being and educational programs for the brave soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Las Vegas Sheriff Joseph Lombardo attended the Nov. 1 gala, which has become one of the Las Vegas Jewish community’s largest events and honored leading defense attorney David Z. Chesnoff.

Also speaking at the gala were active-duty and former Israeli soldiers, including Staff Sgt. Reno, a Lone Soldier – one who enlists in the IDF without having any immediate family in Israel – who lived in Las Vegas and who finished his high school education during his military service, thanks to FIDF; Yaakov Daniel, who plays a counterterrorism operative in the hit Israeli Netflix series “Fauda” and whose college education was sponsored through FIDF’s IMPACT! Scholarship Program; and Staff Sgt. (Res.) Sharon, a sharpshooter in one of the world’s only coed combat infantry battalions who engaged and neutralized terrorists attempting to infiltrate Israel.

Chairing the gala were FIDF National Board Members Dana and Michael Werner. Human rights attorney, author, and award-winning filmmaker Brooke Goldstein presided as the evening’s master of ceremonies. The gala also featured a musical performance by Kol Esperanza.

Goldstein, whose documentary “The Making of a Martyr” examined the recruitment of children suicide bombers, spoke of FIDF’s critical role in helping provide humanitarian programs to those who serve in the IDF.

“By providing crucial support systems for Israeli soldiers, FIDF ensures they are treated like the real heroes that they are,” she said. “Because these young men and women are fighting for the survival not just of Israel, but for the Jewish people. For us, for everyone right here in this room and for our future!”

Other distinguished guests included boxer and celebrity Mike Tyson; Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson; Nevada Supreme Court Justice Lidia S. Stiglich; Judges Mark Bailus, Joe Bonaventure, Elissa Cadish, Douglas Herndon, Abbi Silver, and Michael Villani; FIDF National Director and CEO Maj. Gen. (Res.) Meir Klifi-Amir; Rabbi Mendel Mintz, founder and director of Chabad Jewish Community Center in Aspen; Todd Polikoff, president and CEO of Jewish Federation of Las Vegas; Joshua Abbey, director of the Las Vegas Jewish Film Festival; Dr. William Bolt, vice president for advancement at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; Nevada Assemblyman Stephen H. Silberkraus; Nevada State Treasurer Dan Schwartz; and Brian Watson, Republican candidate for Colorado state treasurer.

The funds raised at this event will go toward FIDF well-being and educational programs for IDF soldiers. For more information or to support FIDF, please visit: www.fidf.org.
